Graduation at Shenandoah
As of today, I am a graduate of Shenandoah University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Words cannot express the joy I have in being able to say (or type) that. It's been a whirlwind of an adventure these past four years and I've loved every single second of it. It's true when people say to enjoy you years in college because they go by fast.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of my mother, father, family, friends, the Musical Theatre Class of 2015, the faculty at Shenandoah Conservatory, Tracy Fitzsimmons, Spiritual Life, Student Life, and, of course Walt Disney, in which they served as my rock, my support system, and my inspiration to pursue what I love doing. Thank you to everyone and anyone who helped me achieve one of my life goals today.
I am very fortunate and blessed to have attended a school where they are not afraid to push you past your comfort zones and still respect you as an artist and an individual. I am so grateful to have had the company of my mother, father, grandma (who flew from Puerto Rico), friends who weren't graduating but chose to attend the ceremony, and my family who viewed the live stream in attendance. Here's to the some of the best years of my life! Always, Rafael Martinez-Salgado
